Hi. My name is Paul Coshott. I am a Liverpool Personal Trainer, based in South Liverpool, where I live with my family and our two labradors. I have been involved in sports and fitness for many years. My journey began when I took up rowing at Mersey Rowing Club, where I now also volunteer as a British Rowing coach. Over time, I added running and cycling for cross-training, which eventually led me into competitive triathlons. I trained for and completed my first Ironman at Bolton in 2018. I also enjoy strength & conditioning, yoga, and trail running, which led me to CaniCross (cross-country running with dogs).

I love the feeling that comes from knowing I'm helping others achieve their goals. I know first-hand how challenging it can be to lose weight and get healthier, but with regular exercise and good nutrition, you can enjoy improved fitness of mind and body. This allows you to live a fuller, healthier, happier, and potentially longer life. My fitness journey hasn’t always been smooth. At university, like so many others, I gave up sport, ate poorly, drank too much, and became overweight. After graduating, I worked in an office in the center of Liverpool, and while I tried gyms and classes, I never made real progress. My weight fluctuated, but I never reached a point where I felt truly healthy and confident.

I distinctly remember the day I decided to “get fit.” I went running along the promenade at Otterspool. I ran for about five minutes before getting chest pains, gave up, and walked home. I didn’t run again for two years—it was that demoralizing!

It wasn’t until I learned to enjoy sport that I started to make progress. I went through the process of teaching myself how to run efficiently, exercise effectively, and make steady gains in fitness. I read books, watched videos, and explored resources online to figure out what worked. Once I achieved results for myself, I knew I wanted to help others do the same. That’s why I trained as a gym instructor and personal trainer, and set up my own business to offer Personal Training in Liverpool.
